An alternative power solutions for communication and lighting has been introduced into the Nigerian market as part of measures to curb the menace of power outage in the country, especially in rural and remote areas,
The product, which is known as Renewit, comes in different ranges such as Sunstorm solar charger, sunstorm solar hat, sunstorm powerlock, sunstorm booklight, and sunstorm flashlight. Others are sunstorm roomlight and solar fieldkit.
According to Mr. Richard Atwal, Strategic Business Development officer of Formation Limited, the company behind it, the products are a new era for renewable technology solutions to confront the challenges of lack of power for communication, poor global literacy and to bring business opportunities to people living in rural and remote areas of developing countries.
The company, according to Atwal is a manufacturing company based in China, whose creative development teams design, create and engineer products that can perform in the most extreme conditions bringing the ability to have light at night and power communication related accessories to necessary for localised economies.
"Our development teams based in Hong Kong ensure the product is made to the highest standards with our strict quality control systems implemented throughout the development and manufacturing process. Renewit is also dedicated to creating our own direct sales programmes that create employment opportunities and allow our products to reach the most inaccessible areas," stated the Strategic Business Development officer.
He explained that the sunstorm solar charger has been designed to charge mobile phones with optimum results, stressing that the integrated battery checker allows users to know when the solar charger is fully charged and that the advanced circuitry and battery design ensures a maximum transfer of power generation to the phone through which optimum results are achieved.
For the sunstorm solar hat, the Nigerian representatives of Formation Limited, Mr. Emeka Nkpa said that the battery technology allows the product to operate efficiently and safely with temperatures excess of 60 degrees.
He said that the branded hat provided unique opportunities for brand awareness, that it could be customised on request to any design on logo.
For the sunstorm Powerlock, he said, the power lock allows you to leave your charger under the sun all day optimising solar charging capacity. The powerlock has a patented combination lock design that can be used to secure the charger anywhere.
The Nigerian representative further said that the sunstorm booklight had two super bright LED's that provide sufficient light for reading through the night. He said that the efficiency of the LED's allowed the light to be continually powered from the charge for up to nine hours.
For the solar fieldkit, he explained that it provided business energy solutions for communication, financial and medical applications.
He added that the kit enabled business to power their equipment in the remotest of areas to open up new markets, adding that this would include POS machines, satellite phones and other devices.
