Savannah Bank: Nwobodo Commends Rule of Law, Media

Chief Jim Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo, chairman of Savannah Bank of Nigeria Plc has commended the federal government for creating the enabling environment for rule of law to thrive in Nigeria.
He said that rule of law facilitated the return of the banking license of the bank and further paid glowing tributes to the media for their consistency in fighting the course of the bank.
Nwobodo said that the revocation of its license was perceived as injustice, adding that if not for the persistency of the media the bank would not have been returned to the owners.
“Without you the media, it was impossible to have Savannah Bank returned to us. The Judiciary also showed that there is hope for the downtrodden in society. We want to thank you most sincerely for the support.  We are very grateful.  Our shareholders are very grateful. Our depositors too must thank you.  We appreciate your effort.  And as we make effort in recapitalizing this bank, we also need your support”. He said 
The chairman said that “We have visited CBN earlier.  We have also visited NDIC and they pledged support to the effort to recapitalize the bank.  We have fixed new date to meet again towards handover of the branches”.
He appreciated the roles of CBN and NDIC for its boldness and courage in obeying the rule of law and the Judiciary for being bold to give teeth to the rule of law.
Nwobodo who said for him, he has decided to let bye gone be bye gone while focusing on the future , added that “I learnt that injustice has a terminal date and that you can never defeat the truth.  I also learnt that it is good to be focused and fight for the truth.  Above all, you must believe in God”.
