Skye Bank Partners British Council

Skye Bank Plc and the British Council have gone into partnership in the area of human capital and manpower development with the objective of developing the skills and competences needed for nation building and economic empowerment.
Under the partnership, Skye Bank will support the British Council's Management Express programme, a quarterly human capital development and networking event of young and mid level career professionals and entrepreneurs who meet quarterly to discuss  contemporary management issues and network with peers and experts.
Speaking at the agreement signing ceremony, Mrs. Amaka Onwughalu, executive director, treasury/South East, Skye Bank said the bank had played a major role in human capital development in the country, adding that it would continue to explore opportunities to contribute to nation building.
She said Skye High, the bank's motivational talkshow, is a way of empowering and developing human capital across the country, pointing out that the sponsorship of Management Express would further enhance the quality of the nation’s human capital.
Onwughalu said the programme would increase knowledge and expertise in the country by making it possible for young entrepreneurs and professionals to meet and share thoughts and ideas on business, management, among others.
Also speaking at the occasion, Mr. Amir Ramzan, deputy country director, British Council, said his organization was delighted to partner with one of the country’s foremost banks.
He said Skye Bank has shown a good example in the area of support for human capital development, professional development and economic empowerment, and urged other institutions to emulate it.
Management Express forum features high profile speakers from abroad and Nigeria who deliver talks on contemporary market, as well as operational driven topics relevant to diverse sectors, drawing on their rich experiences.
Three fora have been scheduled to take place in the next three quarters in Lagos, Abuja and Enugu.
