Sovereign Trust Assurance plc, (STI) in its determination to consolidate on its products’ profile, has unveiled a new product to handle the challenges that arise from travel insurance requirements.
This is coming on the heels of keeping to requirements for the issuance of visa to Nigerians travelling on business or vacation to foreign countries. The new product, tagged ‘Medical Travel Insurance Cover’ is in partnership with a United Kingdom- based underwriting firm.
Tajudeen Rufai, STI’s Divisional Head, Technical, said that the product arose out of the need “to include the Medical Travel Insurance to the list of products under the stable of the company,’ which he said ‘cannot be overemphasized at this point in time.” He affirmed that the company has “carefully studied and watched the growing demand for this particular product before accepting to underwrite it.”
He stressed that STI, in coming with the product, wanted to be sure of the kind of collaboration that will benefit the people as well as adding value to the insuring public. Rufai added that the company’s partnership with a foremost United Kingdom- based underwriter arose out of its determination to ensure that its customers were adequately catered for.
Rufai charged the insuring public to make the insuring public to make clarifications when applying for this travel insurance cover, noting that it was necessary, to avoid being under insured or otherwise.
Also commenting, Segun Bankole, Head of Corporate Communications and Brand Management, added that STI was well “known to do things in a very unique and innovative manner and this we intend to extend to this new product that we just added to our line of business in January 2012.”
