The Arts in Me Searches for Talents

The Arts in Me (TAiM), a new reality TV show is about to hit the screen and the brains behind it have informed that it was created out of the need to explore the hidden potentials in the arts and entertainment industry in Africa.
The creators of the show intend to identify and expose to the public, the ‘round characters’ and bring them to self-fulfillment, as well as nurture them to stardom.
At a recent media briefing to announce the show, Bayo Ogundimu, project director, said that through the programme slated to last on television for 13 weeks, raw talents are required through visual presentation, to identify and promote Nigerian content and cultural flavour.
According to him, ‘the programme aims to highlight the innate talents of the participants, promising rewards for any outstanding artist as may be accessed by the panel of judges, tutoring experts and the voting public. It will be the first Nigerian reality TV talent show in history to combine a full range of artistic skills.’
“The Art in Me has seven categories: singing, instrumental music, dancing, photography and modeling, documentary or short film, visual arts and performing/acting,” Ogundimu added.
As an annual TV programme, it has been designed as an all inclusive talent hunt show, which includes, auditioning and housing participants wherein they will be trained, tested and graded on acquired skills and ability to work in a team; and a final candidate selected is considered to have the ability to hold his own in the entertainment industry.
TAiM is billed to debut in Nigeria and Ghana and is being managed by Bay Production Ltd., a company which has personnel with commendable track record in the fields of TV, film and radio productions.
