VDT Communications has unveiled to the public its ISO 20000-1:2011 certification, an achievement that bestowed quality service on the company.

Abiodun Omoniyi, managing director, VDT Communcations, said that, “it has been a great and tremendous journey reaching this destination considering we started out by achieving the ISO: 9001: 2008 certification in 2013 and in less than two years, we are here again with another laudable achievement: ISO 20000-1:2011.”

“I can look back and smile for all of these achievements because of our entire staff dedication and commitment. It is great to celebrate this achievement. But, it is even greater to celebrate our Customers and partners without whom there would not be anything to celebrate; they are the ones that challenged us to reach higher heights in the delivery of quality service,” he said.

According to him, “the truth is, we never set out to set any record. We were well into the journey before we realised that a record was being set – the first Telecom company to achieve this feat in West Africa.

Indeed, the starting point of all achievements like NAPOLEON HILL stated is “desire”. We desired this, with optimistic faith, hope and confidence until we got the ISO 20000 certification for IT service industry.”

He describe ISO 20000-1:2011 as certification that focuses primarily on fine-tuning the IT Service management capability of a company which includes key processes of service delivery, control, complaints resolution and relationship management.

“Like the ISO 9001: 2008, this certification is ultimately aimed at providing top-notch service quality experience and satisfaction to VDT customers in a globally standardized manner”.

Among the benefits of this certification to VDT include: reduction in incidents and improved incident management, improved corporate image and credibility of the VDT Brand, adoption of an integrated process in the delivery of IT services, reduction in response time and interruptions to IT service, improved cost management, inculcation of a culture of continual improvement into VDT operations, greater under-standing of roles and business objectives, ensuring consistent and premium service delivery.

All these give VDT a competitive edge and most especially increased customers’ satisfaction and loyalty. With ISO 20000 certification, all our Customers are in for a world class service experience.

For VDT Communications occasions like this also provides an opportunity for them to recount their achievements. In less than three (3) years, the company has been able to achieve some noble strides.

Among these are the following: 11 Trainee Engineers’ program (TEP), 10 New Graduate Trainee Modular program (GTM), New POPs opening to cover the entire 36 states capital of Nigeria, Increase in staff strength to about 200 personnel pan-Nigeria and a more visible, strong  and positive brand image through new logo/rebrand

The company has provided leadership in Broadband communication through Bitflux consortium winning of 2.3GHz spectrum auction

With ISO 20000: VDT has become a name synonymous with quality service.

However, this has also challenged it to continually improve on their standards in all areas of service delivery.

“Our customers and members of the public expect much more from us.  To us in VDT, this is a good challenge, because we see it as a stimulus for excellence, growth and even greater accomplishments.

I assure all that we will not rest on our oars, but will continually uplift our service quality to the benefits of our customers, stakeholders and the society at large,” he added.
