Vice president Yemi Osibanjo has been scheduled to address young people at the Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs Student Association (AYESA) conference holding in Lagos.
The initiative developed by A.Y.E headquartered in Johannesburg South Africa aims to provide viable and sustainable solutions to unemployment in Africa and will help develop young people to think like Job creators and opposed to Job seekers.
The initiative came from the reality of unemployment in Nigeria and Africa and the effects of it. AYESA will provide long term solutions that will impact and change lives, said Ms. Ibada Ahmed, vice president of A.Y.E.
She said that for many years the policy makers of Africa had fought and blamed the education system of Africa for not being structured to be in tune with the realistic needs of the average African graduate and potential entrepreneur.
“They claimed that it was alien and not made for the brains and diverse business environment of our continent,” she said.
Ms. Ahmed further stated that although this was a largely debated matter then, it was eventually revised through various laws in different countries and today remains a non-debatable matter because of it revision and changes made.
According to her, African problems needed African solutions and after 24 months research and fine tuning, the Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs Student Association is ready for launch and implementation.
A.Y.E is the largest Economic group in Africa with more than 12 million pan African members and in 19 African countries.
Mr. Summy Francis, president of A.Y.E, reiterated the Vice Presidents statement and further stated that 10,000 Jobs would be created from AYESA among previously unemployed youth.
As a result 100,000 Jobs would be created through employment. Francis, further challenged financial institutions in Africa to come together to develop a win-win strategy for African entrepreneurs and called for review of monetary policy and subsequent review of interest rates for start-up
He encouraged Nigerian and African Governments to extend outreach to innovative solutions that are guaranteed to impact lives through sustainable Job creation.
He mentioned that A.Y.E had spent more than $100,000 United States dollars from internally generated revenue to research and launch AYESA for the betterment of Africa.
He added that AYESA was revolutionary in its success in that qualified participants of the 10,000 Entrepreneurs would be put through incubators to help them think like entrepreneurs and equip them to become excellent ones.
The incubators would serve as a one stop shop service centre where various solutions are provided, he stated.
Mr. Oluwadare, who is head of the A.Y.E economic team stated that the upcoming AYESA conference is in the interest of every Nigeria youth to the regard of Job creation via entrepreneurship right from formative academic days.
He noted that Africa’s Young Entrepreneurs economic development committee which he heads, spearheaded research backed with facts on the best way to tackle unemployment in Nigeria cum grooming young entrepreneur for innovation and job creation.
He continued to make a note and example on everyday reality and a known fact that over 34million Nigerians wore jeans daily, over 60million tooth brushes used daily in Nigeria and over 30 million towels used daily, with more than 80% of this products not being made in Nigeria.
Mr. Oluwadare reiterated that Africa had the raw materials, the manpower and energy including drive to make it happen only if our continent and Nigeria effected tangible, measurable and sustainable policies.
He further said that Africa’s Young entrepreneur’s student Association inaugural conference will be a platform where young entrepreneurs will have first-hand information on the best way to kick start there various business with the mind-set of creating Jobs and good Return on Investment.
The A.Y.E country head invited every unemployed Nigerian to register for FREE to become Job maker as opposed to Job seekerfor the December 5, 2015 conference to be held at the Lagos University.
The conference theme ‘Entrepreneurship in Education will bring together both Nigerian and international speakers and business leaders including Lagos state Governor and Vice President H.E Yemi Osinbajo, to address the 10,000 participants in attendance.
Oluwadare encouraged the youth to dress corporate on the conference day so as to represent investment worth ideas.
