Weco Systems International, the innovative and leading Systems Integration Company has made ICT equipment donation to selected schools in Lagos and Anambra States respectively.

These donations were made in memory of her late founding CEO Uchenna Obidike and also part of their commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

According to Obinna Ekwonwa, chief executive officer of Weco Systems International, “ Weco Systems International’s commitment towards capacity development and nation building is unwavering and this has made the donations to selected primary schools in remote areas of Lagos and Anambra state necessary, we have discovered that the pupils and students in remote areas seem to be left behind in the area of ICT development as they hardly have access to these ICT equipment, we therefore decided to consider the students at the grassroots in order give every child an opportunity to develop and globally compete with their counter parts in this digital age”.

He further reiterated that Mr. Uchenna Obidike loved to encourage and empower young people especially the less privileged by investing in their lives to make a difference in Nigeria.

While receiving the ICT equipment for the selected Primary schools in Eredo LCDA in Epe, Lagos State, The Aladeshonyin of Odo Noforija Kingdom, H.R.M Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja expressed immense gratitude towards Weco Systems, he has this say “The Aladeshonyin of Odo Noforija Kingdom, H.R.M Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja and the entire members of Oba in Council wishes to appreciate the humble gestures of your organization towards the educational development in Lagos State and my communities by deeming it fit to donate Computer systems and accessories to selected primary schools in which my domain happened to be one of the beneficiaries. I say more grease to your elbow”

In the same vein, while officially presenting the ICT equipment to the Commissioner for Education represented by Mrs. Adaobi Okonkwo, Chief Godwin Obidike, on behalf of board of Directors of Weco Systems said “This gesture is aimed at giving every student in Anambra the opportunity to be properly equipped digitally and compete with their global counterparts. We want to end the era of students just identifying computers only in pictures, we want them to see it, learn and develop through it. He concluded by intimating the gathering of Weco Systems readiness to partner with the state government to further train all the school principals in the state in the area of ICT development” Obidike concluded.

While receiving the ICT equipment, The Commissioner for Education Anambra state, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha represented by Mrs. Adaobi Okonkwo expressed immense gratitude on behalf of the commissioner and the entire state.

In her remark “This donation is timely as the present administration is more than ever passionate about ICT development of the state, especially the teachers who are saddled with the responsibility of transferring knowledge to their students. It’s quite encouraging and supportive to see that Weco Systems has aligned with this passion by donating the ICT equipment to selected schools in the state.

The following are the beneficiary schools in Eredo LCDA, Epe in Lagos State: Government Demonstration Primary School, U.P.E Primary School Imokun and RCM Primary School Noforija. While the list of beneficiary schools in Anambra state are as follows: Central Primary School Umueri Otuocha, Enu Obodo Central School Umueri, Patrick Okolo Memorial School Onitsha, Eri Primary School Aguleri, St. Augustine International Primary School Umuoba Anam, Oraike Primary School Ukwala Anambra West, St. Mary’s Primary School Nneobi, Ogidiga Primary School Ifite Ogwari, Bright Primary School Awkuzu and State Primary School Nteje.

Mr. Ekwonwa urged the teachers and management of these beneficiary schools to take time to put these children through all the necessary education in ICT that this infrastructure can offer. The systems are already preloaded and ready for use! Mr. Obinna Ekwonwa concluded.
