Globacom reinforced her leadership position in innovative products and solutions aimed at exceeding expectations of target market with the launch of Glo G-BAM Hi5ive in University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.
The product earlier launched last year in Lagos allows subscribers to call five special numbers at only five kobo per second. It also offers subscribers several other attractive benefits including free airtime, free night calls and lowest SMS charges in the Nigerian telecoms market.
The Enugu launch was held at White House Auditorium within the University premises and had in attendance students and officials of the University. Also in attendance were Glo Ambassadors from the Nollywood fame – Nonso Diobi and Monalisa Chinda.
 The Event was anchored by MC 2 Can Talk, a popular comedian in Town and entire zone.
Highlighting the benefits of the package, Chinedu Orji, the Glo Business Director, charged the students to take advantage of the offering and be among the 250 students that will earn $5,000 scholarships every quarter. He also explained other unique selling points of the package which includes affordable call rate of 5k per second to 5 friends, free weekend chatting, N500 free airtime on activation/recharge, free facebook browsing and night calls.
In his remarks, the Student Union President Comrade Sunday Okereke thanked Globacom for always remembering the university both in promotional activities and CSR initiatives. He encouraged the students to visit the activation camp that will be stationed at IJ airport in the school for 6 days from the launch date and migrate to G-BAM; and also win other fantastic prizes including blackberry phones, RCVs that will be available to lucky subscribers. Some students who migrated to GBAM during the launch went home with freebies including shirts, caps, Nokia and Blackberry phones. Emmanuel Uche a third year medical student was among the lucky winners of (Blackberry) phone provided.
Also on hand to entertain the Students were DJ Ree, African Shakira and Enugu Home Boy Mr. Flavour who also has a strong followership in the School and entire zone. He thrilled the guests with his tracks which brought the event to a close at 8:45pm.
