Mr. Stephen Ibe, chief executive officer of Stephens Global Services Limited, a shipping and freight forwarding company has said that Information and Communication Technology ( ICT ) revolution has positively impacted on the company’s services.
Ibe, said that with the ICT revolution, he can stay in his office and monitor his staff in other branches all over the country.
According to him, “you cannot imagine what GSM has done in this industry; it has added a lot of value to what we are doing. Now we can track and trace consignments and shipments on the computer, using the internet. If you ship a consignment outside the country, you can now go to the internet and find out how far it has gone. What this means is that you get information from point to point, where the shipment is. ICT revolution has done so much to this industry.”
He said that the company which is into international freight forwarding, consolidation, importing, warehousing, and haulage, is committed to prompt delivery and their consignments are being delivered intact to their various customers.
Ibe disclosed that the company which has been in operation for the past 19 years, is faced with the challenge of managing people.
He said, “our business is all about managing people. It is a business you cannot do without people, so particularly the challenges in this business have been managing people. This is why we make sure we employ people with passion for their work, because there must be that passion that will trigger you into giving your best.”
