Another set of winner emerged at the Ilorin edition of Glo Win N Rule Promo draw held at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin as a furniture maker, Mr. Balogun Dimeji, emerged winner of a brand new Peugeot 307XT.
The furniture maker who could not hide his excitement when his number was announced by the Nigerian most sensational female comedian, Lepacious Bose, who anchored the draw, rolled on the ground as he gave praises to Globacom for changing his fortune for life.
Besides Mr. Balogun, two students, Messrs Oladipo Babatunde, a 400 level French student of the University of Ilorin and Popoola Oluwasesan of the Department of Business Administration, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, won a brand new Kia Rio car each at the draw.
Other winners at the Glo Win n Rule Promo draw incorporated into the on-going Glo Rock N Rule concert included Miss Victoria Ekundayo, a student of Rehoboth College, Ilorin and Mr. Tunde Sunmode, a painter, who both won a 5KVA SDMO generator. Alli Abdulmumini Abdulquadri, Oduoye Oriade and Adesina Oniridunu won motorcycles while Alhaji Yisa Suleiman Dagbo, Adeleye Ade and Olusola success won a bicycle each.
Speaking while receiving the key to the brand new Peugeot 307XT, Balogun said that he least expected the prize, adding that he was convinced beyond doubt that Globacom had come to give the best to Nigerians irrespective of their social status.
Balogun who spoke in Yoruba said “I am very happy. I did not expect to win a car. This shows that Globacom is for all Nigerians irrespective of what they do for a living. I am a furniture maker but Globacom has changed my fortune for life and I pray that the company will never go down”.
Oladipo Babatunde, said after receiving the key to the Kia Rio car he won, that he was at the back in the crowd vocifrously arguing the authenticity of the draw when he suddenly saw his number on the screen and he had to struggle before he could get to the stage to receive his prize because of the huge crowd.
According to him, ‘I was far away at the back and was arguing with my friend about the reality of the draw when I just saw my number on the screen. I did not believe the draw was real when the first items were drawn, but now I believe it is real, it is true and Glo is a reality’.
Popoola Oluwaseun, another winner of Kia Rio said that the prize was the best any company could give to its customers and urged Nigerians to support Globacom in its bid to provide Nigerians with world-class telecom services.
In his remarks at the draw, Mr. Tonye Briggs, Globacom head of Win N Rule Promo, said that the Glo Bigger and Easier Win N Rule promo was designed to put smiles on the faces of loyal Glo subscribers, who had over the years supported the network, pointing out that with as low as N201 monthly recharge, many Glo subscribers could win any of the prizes on offer in the promo.
