Brett Goschen, CEO, MTN Nigeria said his company has invested $1.3 billion in network expansion in 2012 and that it would invest the same amount in 2013.
He said that part of the money was invested in setting up the Yello City, a state-of-the-art customer care centre in Lagos.
The Yello City, he said has been built to give customers ready access to a wide selection of MTN products, data and ICT services in a conducive environment.
Visitors to the Yello City Service Centre will receive personalised assistance from in-house specialists.
The products and services range from a bouquet of ICT services and products aimed at small, medium and large businesses.
Speaking about the N 198 billion investments in 2012, he said this covered the extensive network optimisation and swapout exercise, which MTN embarked upon in June 2012 and which is now at an advanced stage.
The aim is to significantly enhance network capacity and provide improved quality of service, as well as to make its base stations more environmentally friendly by installing hybrid alternative energy solutions, he said.
