 Nigeria Telecom Sector Analysis, a new research report by RNCOS industry research firm has found that number portability, by ensuring better quality and superior customer service, will help Nigeria’s telecom sector to grow at a CAGR of over 14% during 2010-2013.
According to the firm, Nigeria the largest mobile market in Africa had a subscriber base of more than 70 Million and a market penetration of around 50% in 2009. This market is expected to grow at a CAGR of over 14% between 2010 and 2013, with the penetration rate exceeding 75%, by the end of 2013. The continuous economic growth will drive the broadband and Internet market in the country.
It said that the report provides exhaustive information and objective analysis of Mobile Telephone, Fixed-line Telephone, Internet Services and Broadband Services markets in the country. Further, these markets are segmented on the basis of technology, subscriber and service provider.
The report also studies the future growth potential in different technologies like WiMax and 3G.
 “As per our research, by the end of 2013, the share of CDMA technology in the total mobile subscriber base will increase to around 15% from around 10% in 2009.
