The best of the best comedians in Nigeria are to perform at event marking anniversary Stand Up Nigeria (a classy monthly comedy show) which has clocked one, organizers of the show have said

Bunmi Davies, producer/director of the show, said that the show was initiated and established a year ago with the aim to showcase Nigerian comedy talents and to celebrate Nigerians who have made significant impact in their chosen fields in Nigeria.

In the words of Olajuwon Bukunola–Philips, spokesperson for the organizers, Stand Up Nigeria (SUN) is the classiest comedy show that holds every month in Lagos, at the City Mall.  It is later aired on different television stations across the country.

One of the things that make SUN unique is that there are no vulgar jokes, hence also a good comedy show for the family.

Since inception last year, many outstanding Nigerians have been honored and the list includes; Stella Damasus, Lagbaja, Julius Agwu, Jimmy Jatt, Joke Silva, Amaka Igwe, Femi Sowoolu, Tunde  Kelani, Yeni Kuti amongst others.

The talk-of-the town event is slated to hold at the Muson centre, Lagos on November 28, 2009.

The organizers said that the show  promises to be great, grand with more exciting packages, and a special for the Sallah celebration.

Aside real comedy, there will be a never-to be-missed beauty pageant  "Miss Stand-Up Nigeria"  that will feature Emeka Smith, Ogbolo, Bash, Aje  and some other Nigerian comedians.

Stand Up Nigeria, a project of Afrotainment Productions is produced by Bunmi Davies, one of Nigeria’s most creative event/entertainment producers, with several top notch events including radio and television programs to his credit.
